✧ 1. Take Your Dog to Work With You – Luckily I work from home so Casper comes to work with me every day. Hopefully you work somewhere that is a little flexible on bringing your pal to work. It is a great way to liven up everyone’s boring old routine and your dog should get lots of attention from all of your work mates.
✧ 2. Stay at a Pet-Friendly Hotel – We always take Casper on holidays with us, he is just one of the family and we hate to leave him behind. Luckily these days most hotels have dog friendly rooms available for a minimal extra fee. Casper has a blast and gets sooo excited.
✧ 3. Eat a Gourmet Meal – If you can find a restaurant in your neighborhood that is dog friendly that is fantastic (look for water bowls) usually a sign restaurant owners allow dogs. Sometimes it can be tough to find a fancy restaurant that allows dogs so you might have to prepare your gourmet meal at home. There are several delicious dog friendly recipes on the web that can be easy to make like peanut butter cookies and chicken jerky.

Casper especially loves camping and all of the adventures it entails for him. Playing with other dogs, swimming, chasing squirrels and toddlers are just a few of his favorite camping activities. He comes home and sleeps for days it is awesome.
✧ 8. Play Frisbee – I forgot how fun Frisbee was until we bought a glow in the dark one and played on the beach into the night. Dogs instinctively know how to catch a Frisbee and it is great exercise for you and for Fido.
✧ 9. Stand Up Paddle Board – I’m not sure how Casper and I figured this one out but we did. I think Casper was just so desperate not to miss out on an adventure he just hopped right on. Finding balance for both can be tricky but once you find your groove it is an awesome activity to share with your dog. I got a yoga SUP board which is a little wider and more stable which was perfect for the two of us.
✧ 10. Sleep on the Bed – This is an extra special treat in our house. For the most part Casper is NOT allowed on our beds so when he does get the rare chance he absolutely loves it. It is a great chance for us to bond. Dog snuggles are the best.
✧ 11. Go to a Dog Park – Hanging out at the dog park is super fun, not only for Casper and his buds but we meet some super nice people and have interesting conversations all of the time.
✧ 12. Have a Steak Dinner – Need I say more? You will have a friend for life.
✧13. Take a Picture with Santa – We did this when our daughter Grace was a baby. The pictures are soooo cute and are keepers for life for sure.
✧ 14. Go Shopping together at a Dog-friendly Store – These days a lot of stores allow dogs as they want to promote not leaving dogs in vehicles. We take Casper to the pet store all the time but we take him to the hardware store and running errands all over town. It’s fun to mix up the routine !

✧ 17. Play in the Sprinklers – Nothing beats a run through the sprinkler on a super hot day especially for dogs with hot, furry coats. It is some pretty cheap fun entertainment. Give it a go !
✧ 18. Do Doga (Dog Yoga)
Teaching a dog doga moves can be tricky but it can be as simple as connecting eye to eye improving human-canine bond. In any case take a deep breath with Fido and enjoy this opportunity to slow down and relax.
✧19. Eat a Doggy Ice Cream – Another sunny, hot day activity. Please check out our doggy ice cream recipe here.
